Welcome to Ryburn and Halifax Angling Society. JOIN THE CLUB

Welcome

The club is in a very healthy position and we are grateful for all your support during these trying times.

Subscriptions will remain the same at £30 for adults and £15 for OAPs and concessions. However we will have no choice but to increase the adult and concession fees in the 2024 year to £40 adults, £20 concessions.  Junior subscriptions are now free up to 18-years old (unchanged for 2024, day tickets will not rise).  This is due to increase in rentas, and insurance costs. We will keep this fee for a minimum of 5 years. The yearbook will now change to a rulebook that will be kept for the next 5 years and a receipt issued upon re-application – just pop this into your rulebook.

There will be a new book detailing maps and locations of our waters available from late January at a cost of £3. Both the river and canal have been in excellent form, and the dam is into its 4th year of stocking after the major banking works took place. Fresh stocks of common mirror carp along with bream and roach have been introduced this year. A health and safety issue with the Council has forced us to remove all signs that are nailed or screwed to trees. This will mean new signage will be installed onto poles or posts in the future. Again, European signs will be in place. The Thursday Evening League has been a great success and will be up and running again. Our 7 bailiffs will be up and down all year round. Feel free to have a chat and introduce yourselves. Have a great year. Remember to report anyone (or anything!) not fishing to the rules to the club secretary.

Course Season: June 16th – March 14th Inclusive of these dates.

Trout Season: March 25th – Sept 30th Inclusive of these dates.

Fly and worm only on the river from March 25th to June 15th, then anything else from June 16th to March 14th.

Canal and still waters are open all year round.
